We are proud to be the first fragrance brand at Sephora to be a certified B-Corporation!
What does it mean?
With this certification, we have joined thousands of other purpose-led businesses around the globe that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
This evaluation is based on the B Lab’s 5 pillars of governance, workers, community, the environment, and customers, and evaluates factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.

“When I launched The 7 Virtues out of my garage on my visa card, there weren't many terms to explain my social enterprise or our sustainable clean beauty. Obtaining the B Corp certification validates our ethos and our business for not only being accountable for our profit, but how we contribute to the greater good.”
-Our founder, Barb Stegemann
What helped us become B-Corp?
We have been a social enterprise since we launched in 2010, using perfume to make positive change. We responsibly source all of our ingredients and work with ethical vendors and suppliers. We compensate our employees fairly - 144:1 is the world average pay ratio of highest paid to lowest paid employee - 6:1 is the average pay ratio of B Corps.
The 7 Virtues brand began as an empowerment book, The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen written by our founder, Barb Stegemann to empower women. Barb brought the thesis of her best selling book to life by sourcing organic essential oils from farmers in nations rebuilding, by harnessing women's buying power to build peace. Fast forward and our origin story has evolved into supporting Days for Girls to advance period equity so women and girls will have a seat at the decision making tables.
Our recent focus has been ending period poverty for women and girls in North America and across the globe, partnering with Days For Girls. Partial proceeds from each of our perfumes goes towards providing menstrual products and education for those in need. When women and girls have reproductive rights and autonomy over their own body, they are able to have a better education, and use their education to become change makers.
